When we go away we pack all our genuine valuables (eg musical instruments, jewellery, etc) into the boot of my car, which we then lock and alarm, inside our locked garage, and take the keys away with us.

During a normal evening, the car lives in the locked garage, but usually with windows down.

A lot of newer model cars are stolen during burglaries. How many of us put our car keys on the kitchen bench, table, hook on the wall etc – I know I do.

Yup, I do too. I make a point of putting them all away if I am going away for the weekend, but any random weeknight…

Luckily my car isn’t exactly a target for thieves. 🙁

I agree with “Screaming Banshee” and maybe the Parents or gaurdians should be hevaily fined, charged and put on parental probation!!!! I remeber when i was 13, If I stole a toy car then I would cop a flogging let alone stealing a real car……

Actually audi q7s are the hardest to steal in their class, Audis mostly are. I’d say this kid did have access to the main keys.

Another good job by the Police to catch these pain in the mother F*c*ing backsides who are forever causing our insurance premiums to rise! Not to mention the fact that these stupid car thieves are potential killers and they dont even know it. When will the law get tougher on these people? They will be back doing it again in no time…………….

Let the 13 year old out, but break his legs first so the prick can spend 12 months in a wheelchair.

“I assume a 13 yo would need the keys to steal an Audi ? either that or they have crappy immobilisers”

yes good point. Though even for professionals stealing this car it is done with the owners keys, duress or trucked away.

It is not possible to start this car without the original keys. As the ECU provides the ‘immobilisation’ feature for this car it can not be bypassed by professionals in the same manner as with black wire/relay retrofit immobilisers.

Even if a replacement coded key is made by the manufacturer it still requires the car to visit a dealer to register the replacement key to the ECU using the factory diagnostic computer.

“You’re in a police pursuit, and you go down a long (but ultimately dead-end) road, with a nudist beach at the end of it, and you run towards the naked men?”

Come on its obvious, he obviously was late for a date………

black Audi Q7 which was stolen… The 13 year-old male driver has been charged…

13 year olds want to steal and drive soccer parent cars these days?
Lunatics.

In a separate incident… located the vehicle on Kambah Pool Road and re-engaged the pursuit. The driver has stopped the vehicle at the end of Kambah Pool Road and fled on foot.

You’re in a police pursuit, and you go down a long (but ultimately dead-end) road, with a nudist beach at the end of it, and you run towards the naked men?

Here we go again.

Sure lads, your human rights say you must not be held in custody, even in a really nice human rights compliant prison.

So back out and do it all again, over a quarter of the ACT’s road deaths this year have been caused by letting these sort of dickheads out.

Any input Ms. Charlesworth, Ms. Watchirs or even the international human rights expert JS himself?

13 year old male driver!

Doesnt he know the Q7 is for families? If he isnt stopped, next it will be a camry
