ACT Senate Candidate Steven Bailey is putting on a Q&A/party/hootenanny at Smith’s Alternative.

The always charming Chris Endrey will be emcee, there will be music by Sanjiva De Silva, drinks and… well a Q&A with Steven, a member of Katter’s Australian Party.

Also Steven’s dog Bruce will be there, which is a good thing.

While ever other politician in Canberra seems to be playing one game, Steven is playing a completely different game.

I haven’t quite worked out exactly what that game is, but I like that he’s playing it.

Yeah, most people voting for the watermelon party can’t afford the $25 from their dole cheque. They have already spent it on weed. Puts a real damper on their turning up to be a turd in the punch bowl of an otherwise pleasant evening.

Yes, every party needs someone with such boundless joie de vivre as you. Champagne tastes flat without Grimm’s bubbly humour.

But how would you know, Comrade? Isn’t champagne only for the bourgeois dogs? Surely a proletariat like yourself would have no need for such opulent things…

Ummm, I think your view of me is just a little inaccurate, my dear Grimm.

‘And the correct word is “proletarian”, isn’t it Jemima?’

‘I believe that’s the one, Augusta. Now open that second bottle and stop this aimless chatter.’

I may just have to find a way to come along to this thing; it’s gathering Mummentum.

I was beginning to wonder whether Steven and Jorian had ever been seen in the same place at the same time (used to have similar thoughts about Stanhope and Elliot Goblet) – this should at least deal with that one.

Steve, if you’re reading this, could you please do a qanda with riotact? Or if you’ve got other ideas for ways people can ask questions, such as reddit, could you let us all know?

I for one would like to know your views on drug laws.

Alternatively, does RA have any plans to canvass our senate candidates views in a post?

Hello there – I’d be more than happy to do a qanda with Riotact. Although my party pushes no agenda, one way or the other, with drug laws, I’d be more than happy to talk about it with you during the Q&A at Smith’s and give everyone a clear idea on how I would vote – if ever given that honour.

Are you going to do a live Q and A where the public don’t have to pay to ask questions?

Touche!

Yes, of course – every day. Unless your genesis into politics is in a safe seat under the cosy banner of one of the major parties; or paid for by unions, Gina Rinehart or Clive Palmer, events like this one are the types of things all people running for office and starting from scratch have to do. As we are a party that believes in subsidising those who are in need, I am happy to give two free tickets to subscribers of Riotact who can’t afford it, or who refuse to pay on philosophical grounds – I’ll leave that to Johnboy to decide.

….

And I’ll just casually mention the Animal Justice Party at this stage, and prepare to duck…. 🙂

If only it was The Catter Party, you could vote for this mob…

I’d only consider it if Bruce was the candidate. And even then probably not.

This is seriously bizarre, but fantastic.

However, I simply can’t give my vote to the Katter Party.

Having said that, good luck to him, he’s having a go.

You mean the only party that openly admits to wanting to destroy the country by essentially ending farming of any kind? The ones whos policies are so stupidly contradictory it’s gotta be a troll?

Yup, I have a new contender for second last below the line, just above the watermelon party.

Oh, I would quite like to go to this, but the candidate has given Insufficient Notice. However I do notice the ticket prices…is this actually a fundraiser for Katter’s Party? Because I couldn’t do that.

He should do a morning/afternoon tea one…for the Ladies…(-:

A week’s notice isn’t enough?

If Bruce could only talk..

Possibly the only candidate worth voting for in the ACT. Seems like a decent bloke and is prepared to listen to what people voting for him want. The no BS response to questions is a welcome change for a politician.
