A Right-wing Liberal from Queanbeyan, Matthew Mason-Cox, appears to be destined for the NSW Upper House after organising a putsch against sitting member Patricia Forsythe, according to this story in The Australian.

The newspaper also related this to Pru Goward’s push for election, although I can’t imagine her being thrilled even if she was offered a spot in the Loser’s Lounge of NSW politics.

success in business (or politics for that matter) isn’t so much what you know but who you know 🙂

I believe he has been referred to as ‘right wing’ as he was assisted by the likes of Upper House MLC David Clarke, and known ‘mini me’ staffer Alex Hawke with the branch stacking to take out incumbent Patricia Forsythe.
And yes… don’t we all love political labels!!!

I have met Mason-Cox through Rotary. He’s a really nice guy and down-to-earth. Very involved in the local community. Right-wing…I just love political labels!!!
