Queanbeyan City Council has announced they’re gearing up for that city’s 175th birthday.

Queanbeyan’s Heritage Advisory Committee is calling on the community to become involved in the naming and development of celebrations for Queanbeyan 175th birthday 2013.

Planning has already commenced for a year of celebrations to mark Queanbeyan’s 175th birthday – which is in September 2013. The Committee requires some assistance and is seeking volunteers, possible names and sponsorship opportunities.

If you’d like to volunteer email council@qcc.nsw.gov.au.

They’re also after suggestions for a name to go with the event.

Good to see. Canberra was always the pimple on Queanbeyan’s arse anyway.
