ACT Petunias

In the continuing series Images of Queanbeyan, here is proof that Queanbeyan, unlike Canberra, knows where to put the Petunias.

Earlier, we had sad proof that the ACT Government did not know where to put the Petunias. They put them up on poles, in bowls. And down they came.

The ACT Government needs to fund a fact-finding trip to Queanbeyan, to find out how it’s done.

[ED – I can’t see them lining up for that junket.]

You can put your Petunias in the main street, and that way the rampant traffic can keep them safe from marauders.

Petunia-harmers can visit these Petunias briefly, but they can’t spend too much time with them.

You can put your Petunias where they’ll be guarded by fierce palm-trees.

Or you can put them behind a special Petunia Fence.

And for an added layer of security, you can confuse the drunks and other Petunia Threats by hiding them in the Tulip Garden.

They’ll never find them there.

I don’t think they had flora in mind when they erected that death trap barrier in the main street.

All those bright colours will help camoflauge the spew outside the pub. Smart thinking.

If they can dodge all the rampaging trucks to get to the flowerbed outside the pub, they’re too busy to think of spewing, let me tell you.

They’ve just made holes in the pavement along that side, and planted little trees, too. I don’t know what is going to happen when the trees grow up and start to lift the awnings currently above them. Maybe they forgot that trees grow upwards.

Bah, I refuse to believe this new fangled idea of planting flowers in the earth rather than up in the sky will ever catch on. Kids today…

All those bright colours will help camoflauge the spew outside the pub. Smart thinking.

I think I spotted a rogue pansy amongst those petunias.

You did not! There are no pansies in Queanbeyan. At all.
Just some very tough Gazanias helping the palm tree to protect the Petunias.

I think I spotted a rogue pansy amongst those petunias.

You northerners should have elected Pangallo after all! Obviously he knows all about petunias…
