Questacon sounds like an Decepticon.

Questacon is having another SciNight!

SciNight! Is where you go to Questacon, check out the exhibits, watch a show or two, all the while drinking a beer and enjoying the lack of children in your way.

It’s a pretty special thing.

Kick off the weekend with science with Questacon’s SciNight, a geeky night for grown-ups served with a dash of deliciousness.

This 18+, food themed event features presentations on coffee from Two Before Ten – Cafe & Coffee Roasters and beer from Zierholz @ The Brewery plus a whole lot more. Including the opportunity to explore the galleries after dark – without kids!

Live music from Eat at Joes (featuring theoretical physicists and engineers), tasty food and drinks from the bar and thanks to our friends at Canberra Milk we will be making Raiders Lime icecream with Liquid Nitrogen.

Tickets are $10 at the door from 6pm, Q Club members free.

Yes, you can go down the slide while drunk.

It’s totally worth it.

Beer was indeed warm and quite pricey last time.

iirc the explanation was that one of the hired coolrooms was infact a freezer so there was an issue in cooling sufficient beer to drinking temperature.

So all you yoof (and past-yoof-by-date-yoof) can eat tonnes of green ice-cream and drink litres of Zierholz. Helpful hint from Aunt Jemima: I have heard that the earthquake room is really good for curing drunkenness.

Don’t remember them being warm, but the drinks were expensive. Still that’s pretty much standard at events.

If memory serves, the Corona was expensive and warm last time, no?

Still, I haven’t been there in so many years. This really is tempting me to get my science geek back on.
