Hi Grizzled RiotAct veterans,

I am heading overseas on Monday next week and my iphone battery has died – overnight charge lasts about 30 mins. Can anyone suggest where I can get the battery replaced quickly? – I guess quickly and cheaply is too much to ask?

Cheers,

Bubba

Yes, I am a one man operation, but as for the rest of “qbngeek” comments please take no notice.

This is a cheap attack without any basis or merit from the coward “qbngeek” on my good name and skills.

If you are a real man (or woman) with an issue and have evidence to support your claim please come forward and put it in the open for all these good people to view!

It still makes me laugh that apple has so much confidence in its customers that they won’t let you change the battery.

Great service from the guys at Smashed Apples. As #2 said …friendly, fast and cheap. I called them and they came to my work within 90 minutes, replaced it on the spot for $30. I was pretty happy with that – overnight charge and all works well. Just local guys with a side business. Definitely recommended. Obviously they do broken screens as well – price list on the website.

+ 1 for Battery World @ Phillip.
These guys are fantastic! If these guys don’t have it, it probably hasn’t been invented yet. No, I don’t work there – but have spent much $$$’s with them!

Thanks everyone – willl post a follow-up!

Stay away from this idiot http://www.geeklabs.com.au

Regardless of what he claims on his website, it is one man band who learns how to do repairs by watching youtube videos or looks it up on the net while diong the repair. I know a few people who used him and none were satisfied.

Why you shouldn’t use dodgy mall people to fix your iphone:

There’s a place in Belco Mall advertising that they do repairs on the spot called All Phones. I think they have shops in other shopping centres as well. I’d be interested in knowing what their service is like if you end up going there.

Check the settings, particularly the network settings – sometimes iphones go all quirky and somehow switch on things like data and 3G without you asking it to which chews up the battery really fast.

Have a look at these sites for some ideas to check before forking out for a new battery…

Reasonable pricing and from what I’ve heard off people who’ve used them a good job with friendly service.

I haven’t used them, but Telstra Canberra Centre recommend Battery World, Phillip. 02 6282 9884
