We’ve had this in from Andrew Barr’s office:

Issuing of Quinlan tax review

The ACT Labor Government will issue the Quinlan review into the ACT taxation system, and the in-principle Government response, on Monday, May 7.

The Government will host roundtable discussions with various groups about what is in the review and options for the Government on May 14 and 16, June 25 and July 23. More details about the roundtable will be advised shortly.

The Quinlan review has been long awaited and has the potential to make significant changes to the way tax and government operates in the ACT (but we won’t know until 7 May).

Isn’t Quinlan why we needed a Costello report?

It’ll be interesting to see if recommends moving away from the community based model for pokies and finally let’s the casino have them

Wasn’t it Ted Quinlan who resigned rather than face the Costello report?

Behold, a year and a half – and 14 submissions – later, the Quinlan Tax Review reported under the shadow of the Federal Budget. “And then,” he said, “there shall be further consultation and roundtables with stakeholders.” And there was.

Without wanting to sound a touch cynical doesn’t the federal budget come out the next day?

A sure fire way to bury this release
