I was in the city at the time, and couldn’t see it – but could certainly hear it! Bouncing around all of the buildings, it was impossible to tell which direction the sound was coming from. Actually being in a war zone with those things flying around – especially if you knew they were coming for you – would be absolutely terrifying!

Could you imagine a display along the lines of the blue angels? That would be heaven!

Nice shots and thanks to Josh Chaffey for them. But only one plane ?. You’d have thought they could search around for a couple of more for their birthday..

Hell Williamtown is only about 20 mins away in these things.

20 min but many broken windows if mach 1.0 or better is achieved enroute…

Myth Busted.

The Super Hornets are operated by 1 and 6 SQN, and are based out of Amberley airbase in SE QLD.

I stood down at the duck roundabout at the bottom of Anzac Pde, looked and sounded awesome

Truly amazing noise! I was also driving, and trying not to look up too much. Like a thousand Ducati bikes in the sky.

Just one, geez, was inside a car several clicks away and could hear the roar.
