When it comes to matters radio Samuel Gordon Stewart is the man to which we defer.

Sam has produced predictably comprehensive analysis of the first radio ratings survey of 2009.

FM 104.7 and 666 ABC are the big winners.

Everyone else can be described as falling into the other category (although 2CA recorded what’s either a recovery or a dead-cat bounce).

watch them crack 10% next time!!! nice analysis samuel.

Mmmm… Anybody else smell a 2CA employee?

Ha, what a joke. 2CA cracking 10%? I don’t know how you could be so optimistic rogerwilko. But it would be fun to see…If they were ever going to do that, Mark Parton should be on breakfast. Get rid of those other three…

And what’s with the link to twitter you put in. Is that some sort of joke?

Scotty and Nige do a very effective brand of bloke humour, interspersed with a nudging regard for grammar and things people write letters to papers about. They’re really not bad at all. And in fact they’re better at it than the syndicated pair in the afternoon.

The continuing popularity of “Scotty and Nige” is proof of society getting dumber.

I’m still recovering from their effete ramblings during Tropfest.

the winner is my ipod which replaced all radio in 2006. This station has a playlist of 5790 songs and counting! No ads, just music and some lectures from Harvard and Stanford university, the Economist and news via BBC and CNN.

Has anyone else discovered the print handicapped radio by accident?

RPH (1127 on AM) -Radio for the Print Handicapped- is great! You get book readings, newspapers, articles from magazines from New Scientist to New Idea.

Like RN, it’s not for everyone, all the time. You do get odd things, like the obituaries and the lady who reads out the supermarket specials. But you get the excellent BBC World Service for a couple of hours each day. 80% of the time, there is something pretty interesting on.

That is 1RPH (1125am), I listen to it on the weekend for the BBC World Service, which they run during the nights.

Has anyone else discovered the print handicapped radio by accident? I don’t even know where it is on the dial, but occasionally I strike it thinking it’s RN – and hear something interesting being read out. they should exploit the non disabled market a little!

Those ratings are about what I guessed they would be.
I knew FM104.7 would be up, they’re music mix would seem to have improved a bit in recent times.
A far cry from 106.3 whose music now seems to be limited to the cheapest 80s one hit wonders and anything knew and weird.

He’s driven me to 846…sob!

Groan… don’t get me started about Ross Solly… freakin’ muppet.

Does anyone else find themselves finishing his sentences… 15 seconds before he does?

I take it people’s choices are more based on what or who they’d prefer to miss than what they’d like to hear?

Can someone let me know when Solley leaves 666. I cant stand him.

Another good reason to stick with 666.

Yes, he is!

i heard mark parton on 2ca the other day, does anyone know if he is a permanent member of staff there?
