Foxsports have the sensational news (and as importantly the above video to share) on the Raiders smashing the ladder leading Merger Dragons 32-16 at home!

Denied in the first half by St George Illawarra’s gutsy goal-line defence, the Raiders persevered and the floodgates opened as the home team stuck the boot into their bunny side in front of a delirious crowd of 20,445 at Canberra Stadium.

Their chances of sneaking into the playoffs were also enhanced by losses to Parramatta, South Sydney, Brisbane and the Warriors – all fringe top eight teams.

St George Illawarra coach Wayne Bennett admitted his side do have a problem winning in the nation’s capital, and praised the Raiders as the equal of any team they have played.

They’re still in 9th place with an awful for and against, but playing with form at the right end of the season.

Lets just see how they go away from home.

Believe Canberra!

This team has the makings of something special.
I smell a premiership in the near future, and this town will be painted Green again!

Have a feed at home before you go, Gassed . . . and Harden The F*** UP!

Awesome game with a great atmosphere.

Campo’s solo try was sensational. Croker, Dugan and Vidot were also on fire – the future is looking very bright with all of those young guys. Buttriss too, I hope he stays with the Raiders as he adds a lot.

Holy crap, whining about not being able to fill your whinge hole at a game like that? It’s all about the Raider’s mate! Many of us had to work, and/or don’t have pay TV – we didn’t get to see the game bar internet hi-lights like the one above! It would have been amazing to have been at the game at all in that atmosphere. You want a job Illawarra Mercury?

Go the Raiders!

#3 – the food stalls being hard to get at was doing you a favour on many levels – your tastebuds, your health and your wallet to name 3.

Pity canberra stadium cant cater for large numbers anymore. The food stalls at each only were limited to 1 open and they ran out of food/drinks at halftime. This was the one at the southern end.Surely it hasnt been that long scince we have had a biggish crowd?

Even better we’ve really upset the Illawarra Mercury’s Dragons’ Blog

Their for and against doesn’t matter anymore. If they win the last two games they are in the finals as they play the Broncos.
