The Australian informs us that following the example set by Canberra Raiders’ fans three weeks ago extra measures are being prepared to protect the dirty cheating Melbourne Storm players from other fans.
PARRAMATTA’s Paul Osborne yesterday offered increased security for Melbourne Storm on Friday night as the teams prepare for a grand final rematch.
At Canberra on May 15, fans hung over the fence waving $50 bills at players. The players also received verbal abuse, and Osborne doesn’t want a repeat.
“There was a few dramas in Canberra so we just wanted to find out if they wanted some extra security from the bus to the sheds and things like that,” Osborne said. “They’ve going to get heckled but we don’t need any other dramas.”
The Eels chief also sent an email to club members.
It’s good to see Canberra fans setting the standard even if the players don’t.
