The Raiders have announced that their star fullback Josh Dugan is staying in Canberra to 2014:
Canberra Raiders star fullback Josh Dugan has re-signed with the Green Machine on a new deal that will see him remain in the capital until at least the end of 2014.
It’s a huge positive for the Raiders on the eve of their first home game of the season on Saturday, with months of negotiations coming to a positive end with the Raiders junior remaining at the club which helped make him a massive name in the NRL.
Raiders CEO Don Furner said the news was a huge positive for the club ahead of the season and showed the Raiders were able to keep their high profile players.

Shadow Boxer your points were good until you said “he trains harder than anyone else.” The reports from people in the know at Raiders indicate this is toatlly untrue and a slight on some of the guys in the team that do train very hard.

I guess I just find it a bit unfair just to call people cocks on a public internet forum with no evidence. Fair enough if you are in an elected position or receive a salary of $650k a year and forgot to divert a river before building a dam. I dont know him but from what I know he comes from a family of limited means that are very close, he honurs them every time he plays, he is fiercely loyal to his mates, people love to play with him and he re-signed for less money than he could get elsewhere because he loves Canberra and the Raiders, he trains harder than anyone else (have a look at his physique, that doesnt happen by accident) and by all accounts if you are part of the inner circle you can have no better friend.
I am still waiting for the evidence that he is a total cock, my guess is it is just girlyboy second hand gossip.

Not entirely true. Dugan was repeatedly dropped by the Raiders in his Toyota Cup days and early 1st grade showings due to his reluctance to show up to training. Only when it was fervently clear that his talent was far too good to waste did he decide to apply himself, with outstanding results. His utter disregard for road rules & safety show that he still has a lot of maturing to do. It’s a good thing he’s good at running around with a oval shaped balloon his his hands, because he’d probably be in gaol by now otherwise.
