The ABC brings word on the Raiders’ close loss in Sydney to the Bulldogs:

Hazem El Masri slotted a penalty goal on the siren that sealed it for the Bulldogs, who survived intense pressure in the final 10 minutes as Canberra made a second-half comeback.

Pivot Terry Campese was the lifeblood of the Raiders’ offensive efforts, scoring a try as well as providing assistance in another, and converting two.

If only they’d started the way they’re finishing.

I’m pretty sure he was joking. My wife is female, coincidentally, and she loves the lime green too.

Your wife is female? NO! Jokes. We can only hope he was joking.

I guess the problem starts when women have opinions about football

So just because I’m female I shouldn’t have an opinion about football?

You have your point – possibly not the bit about it being brilliant, but it does stand out against the other teams. Not so much against the grass though. But I love the blue and white. So classy. Much better then lime green, or green and red, or purple and yellow. Eewww. Lol.

Just ask the women of Coffs Harbour

I guess you’re entitled to your opinion. I know I’m not alone in thinking it looks absolutely brilliant compared to most of the other jerseys in the NRL.

The lime green is feral!!

Plus they wear lime green!!!

*Gasp!* The lime green is awesome!

BTW Motleychick, why do you hate the Raiders? Just interested to know.

I’m a Bulldogs fan – we hate everyone that isn’t our team! Lol. I just grew up following the Dogs and I’m not a fan of any other team. Plus they wear lime green!!!

Go the Doggies!!!!! Was a good game of footy. I have to say that even though I hate the Raiders, they did try. Unfortunately they got beaten by a much better team!

The Dogs were only three points better – not heaps given that they were supposedly at full strength and the Raiders were missing three origin players (Leroyd-Lahrs, Shillington and Monaghan), as well as Justin Carney, and playing with a three-man bench.

The Raiders are much improved over the past couple of weeks – looking forward to seeing them take on the Dragons this weekend, especialy with Poore et al suspended. Should even things up nicely!

If that is the sole criteria then, by your logic, they should have beaten them by a lot more. If they were beaten by the Raiders on the weekend who would ‘generally’ be the much better team? I mean teams are being beaten by those above/below them on the ladder every week

Where they stand on the ladder is the indication though! And the fact that they generally are a much team is also an indicator. Everyone has their own opinions though!

23-20. Not much of an indication of a ‘much better’ team in most people’s opinions

I haven’t seen the game yet, but I’m going to try to watch it online over the next few days. It sounds like our guys did really well, especially to make it such a close game against a team so high on the ladder.
