The SMH is reporting on a proud loss by the Raiders to the Canterbury bulldogs.

Proud loss seems to be what they’re good at.

Withers as one of the halves or hooker is the only real option in my eyes. That being said, I’ve never seen him play in the centres, so you might be right.

Germ needs to take stock and have a serious think about how his on field behaviour is affecting the other players, and also the club. To the rest of the NRL we must look like a bunch of cowboys when the Captain gets suspended twice in ten games and is involved in more penalties in one game than some entire teams!

Again, seems like a really nice guy, but needs to give some more thought to playing the game and leading by example.

I think Withers in the centres worked well – particularly when the Raiders always want to run the ball and create plays up the middle.

I agree that Woolford is leading by example in getting a stack of penalties against them.

Don’t be fooled by the name, I’m a Raiders fan and now wish to disassociate myself from dickheads like that. WTF is the deal with finishing words in oz? Maybe they haven’t been told that it’s not cool, just irratating. Why must they rty and americanise themselves to be cool.

But enough about these tools; The Radiers cost themselves the game due to a lack of discipline in the first half. Granted thet was not where the points were conceded, but they wore themselves out defending their line again and again and again because they gave away stupid penalties.

And another point of concern is that Captain Simon ‘Germ’ Woolford seems to be not only conrtibuting to the lack of discipline, but leading the pack so to speak. I’ve met Germ on a few occasions, hell of a nice guy and generally a good footballer, but he seems to be having trouble settling into a rythym this year. He is not helping the situation at the moment, especially when you have a player like Withers who could jump into his position and be worth an extra ten points a game.

A bulldogs fan has blogged a fascinating insight into the game:

bulldogs rock my world
went to a game today at homebush stadium. bulldogs vs. raiders.. of course WE won… yes.. die canberra.

score: 28-10

highlight: first raiders injury in first 40 SECONDS! haha… then another two down after that.. yeah u suck coz ur uniform is bright green! then we saw sonny bill talking to some guy.. and yeah.. it was fabulous — influnced by sex and the city.

this morning i got up and watched sex and cried.. then i just got really depressed hence my cousins and sister taking me to a game then for a big mutherfucker of a dinner at canterbury rsl where i smoked my whole deck, ate a roast dinner and drank a cappucino. its a great life.
