With Raiders finals excitement warming Canberra’s early spring here’s some stuff that’s happened today:

1. Shillington’s Dally M

The Raiders are trumpeting that big Dave Shillington was named “prop of the year” last night.

Shillington said the honour was one he would always cherish, but said there’s still plenty to look forward to this season.

“To win an award like this is a great honour and I want to thank the rest of the Raiders team for having a great season and helping me win the award,” Shillington said. “We still have plenty to offer this season and we’ll be out to win Saturday night against Penrith and keep marching towards the finals.”

2. Home Final?

Premier Review on Facebook has noted that should the Raiders beat the Panthers on Saturday night the following Semi Final will be played at Canberra Stadium on the weekend of 17-19 September.

3. Farewell Adam Mogg

The ABC notes that Adam Mogg is hanging up the boots at the end of the season.

Sadly his dicky knee has made the decision for him.

That’s the McIntyre system for ya.

They’ll be winners, and will be playing a team that has lost.
Seems pretty fair if you ask me.

how is it possible that number 7 and 8 can have a home final? (should they win)

seems a bit unfair if you ask me.

If anyone is looking to buy tix to Saturday’s Raiders game, this website is selling them for $15 each + booking fees. http://lasttix.com.au/last-minute-penrith-panthers-vs-the-canberra-raiders-tickets
