Rainwater tank installers in Canberra?

Having thoroughly failed to find enough round tuits to install a water tank myself, I’m considering hiring someone to do it for me.

Have you had someone install a rainwater tank and electric pump (but not necessarily the plumbing to the gutters) recently? Who did you hire? Did they do a decent job?

At this point I’m hoping to have the tank installed before ANZAC Day.

If you’re looking for more on water tank installation, read through our article on Canberra’s best water tank installers.

Update: I’ve got three quote-visits underway thanks to a tendering website that I’ll name later.

I also have my Dad telling me to do it myself because digging out 2m3 of clay, setting up a gravel or concrete tank pad, selecting and installing a decent pump and doing all the plumbing and electrical work is obviously just a couple of weekend’s work for a Real Australian Man.

Your old man is absolutely correct. Impress him further by doing it ALL tomorrow afternoon…

You got more info on this MrBigEars? I was about to recommend another friend to them but might want to reconsider doing that now.

Belly up in 2012, due to managerial incompetence by the sound of things. (Canberra Times)

If they’re the same mob (and I’m pretty sure they are) that did mine, I thought they went broke. Big arse court case about who owns the Renewable Energy Certificates and everything.

Really??? Was it recent? Their website is designed pretty poorly I’d admit and it hasn’t been improved for the last 10 years but I always thought they were still in business as I’ve checked a few times over the years and their website seems to have been updated periodically with new products.

My dad went with these people (http://www.enviro-friendly.com/default.shtml) about 10 years ago. I thought the installation was great and they provided some great advice on how install the piping to minimise the amount of dirt that goes into the tank.

I’ll be doing something similar soon so will be interested to see responses. There’s a place in Pialligo called Territory Tanks and plumbing. No idea if they’re any good or not, but seemed friendly enough when I was doing some recon.
