I was flicking through our local rag over breakfast where I noticed a wonderful piece in the Today’ [21 Oct 2009] section where the new ACT Minister, has a media adviser who is a Ralph Babe… I’m sure young male journos will be falling over themselves to make it to those press conferences?

Here’s a link to the woman [Ralph MAGAZINE Babe – Victoria Stewart] of the hour… enjoy

[ED – It should be noted that the above link is safe for work if a little raunchy.

UPDATE – Given Pandy’s comment and link (see the comment’s below) it seems I initially read the story wrong (its early) and our new govt media adviser’s name isn’t Ralph Babe but maybe a RALPH babe.

Victoria Stewart isn’t exactly a uncommon name – can anyone confirm they are one and the same?]

The point is what? I’m sure quite a few ralph models have careers other than meter maid or arm candy for sportsmen.

To be honest, I’m not sure what is the best way to emphasise intelect, professional credibility and political acumen. I think we all have our own ideas about displaying these values – none of which will ever match up to anyone elses in the community. So instead, we go our own way and make choices that we want to make. To me this photo tells me she is self confident and not afraid to do things “others” might not think is appropriate.

For me these are values I hold dear – in particular in the political realm.

She’s got great BIG frontal lobes and not afraid to show them!

I don’t know Granny … I’m no wowser, but I’m thinking that posing in Ralph magazine is probably not the best way to emphasise your intellect, professional credibility and political acumen. Some of the comments in this thread attest to this fact. I only hope she doesn’t regret her decision to pose in Ralph in later years, if she does pursue a career in politics. She certainly looks great though.

Very well said Granny

The minions of today are the politicians of tomorrow, if they’re sharp enough. Good luck to her. If her heart is as lovely as her face then Canberra could do well indeed.

This is great news, a young Canberra based success story. We could use a few more stories like this.

Depends on your definition of “success”. If being a low-mid level minion in an ACT politicians office (that politician being one I’d barely heard anything about until she got her turn in the ministry) and being in Ralph magazine are “success”, then good on her.

You sound like a very happy person

Why spoil it with a bikini?

Guaranteed to get 50% of the population on side.

I could see it now… on the side of the Belconnen Way at 8am in the morning, dressed in nothing more than a bikini and a sash saying vote 1

I think she’s lovely!

Good luck to the young pup says I

I would look down. Bet Jon does the same.

Ralph magazine doing photoshopping?
You mean Roberta Williams (Carl’s ex) doesn’t look like that?

Nothing to blow your duds off about

Wow, how photoshopped is she?? They appear to have removed several internal organs in that shot….

Probably the reason he had a dicky heart…

“I’d like to be in a media lock-up with her…”

or

“I wouldn’t mind getting a media ‘de-brief’ from her”

/I’m sure she’s a lovely woman. Wondering if Hargreaves is regretting leaving ACT politics early, however.

She’s getting more publicity than her boss… although that is hardly surprising

haha,

I didnt recognise her for a moment there. Victoria also used to head up Schmooze’s young professionals network.

Wtf is Miss Earth? And how does it differ from Miss World? Seems to me like another chance to show some flesh… not that I am complaining 🙂

surely ‘miss earth’ would only cover the 1/3 that is land mass, where ‘miss world’ would include contestants from the 2/3 of neptune’s realm as well? may the best mermaid win! (so unicorn dolphins would only be permissible in the latter…)

The CT needs to decide whether it wants to be the Herald or the Tele, because it sure can’t be both.

I’m sorry, but what’s this “Herald” newspaper you refer to that wouldn’t run this as a story? The Catholic Herald, perhaps?

This is great news, a young Canberra based success story. We could use a few more stories like this.

And this, apparently, is what passes for news at the Canberra Times – I mean really. The CT needs to decide whether it wants to be the Herald or the Tele, because it sure can’t be both.

Sorry, is there another Canberra newspaper to cover this story? Maybe Canberra needs to work on its news-generating capacity.

It was on the back page, the Today column, which is for gossip/rumours, quirky and amusing stuff. The Herald has an equivalent column (Stay in Touch Mon-Fri and PS on Saturday) which often features similar stories.

Well played Mr Stanhope.

I’ll bet the wife gets concerned when he’s working late!

Miss Earth, hmmmm – The picture i am getting is of a malnourished lady with hairy legs and armpits who uses a crystal as underarm deoderant and believes in the healing power of unicorn dolphins. Also she possibly goes by the name of Flower Earthwhale.

… well played

Well if she is the media adviser for Joy Burch then media conferences featuring the newest Minister will be certainly well attended. Can’t be the same girl….can it?

Ralph and Victoria should be seen going to the races together. What a media scoop!
