Last week AmyG noted that Labor’s NSW Member for Monaro Steve Whan, currently fighting for re-election, has been postering in the ACT in manners not legal in this jurisdiction.
Over the weekend we asked the Chief Minister’s office (responsible for Territory And Municipal Services) what was going to be done about this illegal activity by the campaign of their Labor colleague.
We got this response:
The TAMS City Rangers will visit this site today.
Any signs relating to the NSW election that are placed in the ACT and found not to be in accordance with the removable signs code of practice, which stipulates requirements such as line of sight and safety considerations, will be removed by City Rangers. Signs can be reported to Canberra Connect on 13 22 81.
As a follow up we’ve asked if fines will be applied, and will let you know if we get a reply.
