The Brumbies have facebooked (because rational media strategies are not to their liking) that Clyde Rathbone has been named in the starting lineup for the crucial season curtain raiser against the Queensland Reds this Saturday!

Jake White has confirmed Clyde Rathbone will start for the Brumbies on Friday night. Massive achievement for the old fella! The rest of our team will be named on Thursday. The boys need your support!! Don’t miss out!

It’s going to be a very exciting night!

[For those who weren’t paying attention around this time last year we broke the story of Clyde’s battle with depression and injury]

UPDATE 12/02/13 08:42: At six minutes past eight last night the Brumbies managed to post a statement to their website.

I still can’t find this damn line-up.

The rest of the lineup won’t be announced until thursday

Mark Keohane has an interesting take on Jake White and Clyde Rathbone.

This is great news. So happy for Clyde Rathbone.

More importantly, are ACTION running free buses this year? Their website appears desolate of such info, and I can’t find anything mentioned elsewhere (except the out-of-date info on the Canberra Stadium website)…..

Hey, they also tweeted it….!
