And the latest pitch is $7.4 million for vulnerable families:

If re-elected, ACT Labor will deliver $7.4 million over four years in recurrent funding to provide additional services to vulnerable families.

ACT Labor will

Establish a trauma recovery centre, at a cost of $2.2 million over four years, to provide an early intervention service for young people exhibiting complex behaviours

Commit $1.4 million to expand the successful Parents as Teachers program

Expand therapeutic intervention services for young people by investing an extra $1.2 million over four years

Increase the number of youth engagement workers across the ACT by investing an additional $2.5 million over four years

I would think the most vulnerable family at the moment would be Katys….

Talk about cheap and lazy shots.

Maybe the ALP-groupies would prefer we return to discussing fraud at the Canberra Hospital?

Early intervention to prevent disturbed youth from growing up into more disturbed adults isn’t a bad idea at all. Actually this is a very good idea.

Potentially threatening too. Not. Good. Form.

Utter crap.

A family whose breadwinner is facing the sack is a vulnerable family.

I’m assuming you don’t know then about Katy Gallagher’s back story… 1997.

I suspect such an event would put things about life in greatest perspective, and that a political loss probably isn’t all that important in the scheme of things. A little sensitivity perhaps.

I had know idea what you were talking about and had to look it up.

I still don’t think it was a cheap or lazy shot, just simply a silly political jibe in the vein of what HenryBG was saying. Definitely not alluding to anything more serious.

Ok, I was referring to the potential for Katy G to lose her job. Yes, it was a silly political jibe. That was all I was alluding to. Sorry to everyone who took offence.

So, what I’d like to know is, where the hell is this gold mine that ACT Labor’s recently discovered???

Increased Rates, amoungst other socialist proposals resulting from the Quinlin tax review.

Socialist? lol, I wish.

It’s called, “The Ratepayer”.

Which is why “The Ratepayer” will be voting Liberal this year.

It’s all fudged along with the hospital figures 🙂

“an early intervention service for young people exhibiting complex behaviours”

Well that sounds Orwellian, “no complex behaviour allowed!”

I picture a team of black latex clad child psychologists, rounding up complex children and “intervening”. After which the kids are sent to a trauma center, presumably to get over their “treatment”.

I told you so! Labor, hand in glove with the clubs, organises to facilitate the relocation of pokie machines into the areas where the poor people are, then knows it will need this “vulnerable family” funding to pick up the pieces of family lives ruined by problem gambling. Basically it’s subsidising the clubs, who in turn make big donations to Labor.
