Rebecca Krutsky eligible for parole in January 2015

Two years, not enough time to really punish someone, just enough time to let them pick up some tips and tricks for their future criminal exploits.

Well the whole episode has certainly been a massive lesson for Andre Le Dinh, so a good stern letting off would certainly see her right.

And I’ll also make the point that if Higgins had locked up Corey Martin in 2009 for a much longer sentence (for possibly… Martin’s 82nd criminal offence?!?) when Higgins sentences Martin for robbing houses, then this murder may not have happened, barely a month after Martin got out of AMC. Here’s paragraph 56 of Martin’s 22 year murder sentence by J Nield:

56. On 1 December 2009 the offender was dealt with by Higgins CJ for an offence of burglary and for an offence of going about equipped for theft. He was sentenced to imprisonment from 20 July 2009 to 19 July 2010 for the offence of burglary, and to imprisonment for three months from 20 July 2010 to 19 October 2010 for the offence of going about equipped for theft, with a single non-parole period of 9 months from 20 July 2009 to 19 April 2010. He was released from prison on 20 April 2010.

This is what happens when weak judges go light, so I don’t look forward to reading about Camilla Krutsky breaking the law well within her two-year suspended sentence.

Not surprised tho. And the second woman was basically let off with a two-year suspended sentence.

Ah, Refshauge. For his sheer contempt for the community’s reasonable expectation that serious offenders are locked up in order to protect the rest of us from their bottomless evil – and to also demonsatrate to everyone, law-abiding citizen and criminal alike, that justice is appearing to be done – he makes that thankfully-retired fraud of a judge, CJ Higgins, almost tolerable.

Wow, I went to college with Rebecca, new her quite well – she was a nice girl but was starting to go off the rails back then (as a lot of us were).

Impossible to know whether she encouraged or tried to stop Corey Martin. This “calibre” of woman is normally more likely to do the former though.

Still, 2 years is a joke. This should have got the 12 years Schmidt got, and he should have got 40.

Yes, I agree. The victim Andre Le Dinh might have been a drug dealer but he was always polite when he came into my shop and I don’t believe he was beyond reform.
