ACT Policing is seeking witnesses following a ram raid at the Kingston Hotel during the early hours of this morning (1 April).

About 12:05am a vehicle was driven into the Bottle Shop drive through, reversing into the large roller door three times causing the door to be removed from its rails.

The offender then entered the Bottle Shop through the hole created.

The offender is described as male wearing black track suit pants, a blue hooded jumper and white sneakers.

The offender walked out with an amount of alcohol and caused significant damage to the premises.

Enquiries by police indicate that the white Holden Crewman utility vehicle used in the ram raid was stolen late Sunday night (31 March) from Braddon.
Anyone who may have witnessed the ram raid or who can identify the male in the CCTV images are asked to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000 or via act.crimestoppers.com.au

Excellent definition on that security camera footage. They’ll definitely be able to pick him up quickly with the help of those shots.

Do I need to insert an “irony” tag here somewhere, or was it obvious enough?

he’s just fed up with our early closing liquor trading hours.

Interesting pattern.

He stole a car in Braddon, ram raided a bottle shop in Kingston.
And the stolen ute is yet to be located.

I’m assuming there would have been accomplices in a car, close but just shy of the CCTV camera.

Buying a weekend’s supply of liquor for yourself. $150.
Decking out in fully sick Kappa trackie-dacks from Rebel. $69.99 of your fortnightly Centrelink payment.
Ramming a stolen vehicle to get previously mentioned liquor. Priceless.

There are some things money can’t buy. For everything else, there’s crime in Canberra.

i’m going to go all “old person” here and say i am sick of the crime in canberra…in my day we had to walk hours in the snow with no shoes just to purchase a pint of milk…we didn’t tolerate these kinds of shennanigans.
