Reflecting a desire to pursue doing something with NSW

Chief Minister Gallagher has announced she’s signed a Memorandum of Understanding with NSW.

She says it heralds “a new era of economic development and service delivery for the people of the ACT and south east NSW”.

What’s it going to do to bring about this “new era”? Hmmmm, there’s this bit:

It reflects the desire to pursue a regional approach across a range of areas and recognises the mutual benefits and increased opportunities that emerge though such collaboration.

Hard nosed readers might think that’s a little light on detail.

Then there’s this bit:

The initial priorities of the MoU are to identify economic opportunities, pursue sustainable regional growth including land use and infrastructure planning, and promote targeted service delivery, initially in the health and education sectors. Priority work plans for these areas will be developed in consultation with the relevant Ministers in each jurisdiction.

It is surprising there’s no mention of world peace, a cure for cancer, or getting the sky to rain lollipops.
