I actually sat down at a typewriter and rewrote a few of them as I didn’t like the thought of such rubbish going onto official government files.

The hell is a typewriter?

And this, children, is why we have a problem with security guards body searching people at airports and confiscating sunscreen at outdoor concerts.

Oh yeah and there is no such thing as ghost kangaroos – those would be the zombie ones

All settled then. Just because you didn’t see a ghost clearly and irrefutably proves that nothing paranormal could possibly exist anywhere in the world. Well done champ ( or troll).

Good line of reason – bit of a challenge though to some of the pop-science floating about

It’s obviously the sandwich ghost from Amaroo…

Sandwich ghosts, Olivias, ninja… truly the end of days

Doesn’t need punctuation interference IMO. Runs nicely, readable, editing it would spoil it. It is actually well written.

It’s not your mind playing tricks on you, it’s the tour operator putting ideas into your head.

um, well actually, the tour operator’s ideas are what the mind uses to play the tricks on itself…

[/pedantry]

as pt barnum once noted, there’s on eborn every minute and there’ll always be someone to part a fool and his money. sounds like some here are jealous of those with enough entrepreneurism (is that a word?) to fleece the gullible, who pay willingly – better they run this sort of scam than fleece unsuspecting old biddies of their retirement or similar… they’re out there, y’know – now, that’s scary…

Ghosts are bad, m’kay?

I for one will sleep more soundly now, knowing that Kilari the Ghostbuster is out there keeping the ghouls at bay.

i wented out to the memorial years ago and there were like lots of creepy things happening, like the wind, it moved by itselfed and made the tops of the trees sway (cue: freaky music), and when the moon comeded up it was like really huge then it got smallerer and smallerer but it didn’t like disappear. so me an jenny got in the back seat an she was hugging me real tight then a security guard comeded up and shineded his torch in and the sight of her boozies scared him and he runneded off yelling ghost! ghost! ghost! and then we got even scarederer and holded each other real tight and all of a sudden I feeleded really good…

… geez mum knock next time i was having a weird dream, yeah i know time for skool yeah i’m getting up can’t i just dream some more please mummy

I don’t know which is more appalling, the desecration of the English language in the OP, or the fact that so many otherwise normal people here believe in “ghosts”.

The OP is half right, it is a kangaroo, but, it is a ghost kangaroo.

why was a security guard patrolling the air disaster memorial were they afraid someone would steal the ghost

Glad to see that one’s been cleared-up.

Next-up: Bigfoot!

Captain RAAF9:57 am 29 Nov 10

Poor Reg, it’s nice though, that they built a memorial to him!

ConanOfCooma9:54 am 29 Nov 10

I agree, there are people cashing in on this “ghost” site – Big time.

I am a believer in ghosts, but the crap you put up with on these tours is insane.

Crazy, potential “psychics” running around declaring “I can feel them, they’re here!”, and everyone else freaking out because it’s dark and cold, and they are out of their comfort zone. It’s not ghosts, you dumb-arses, it’s your brain! You’re scared and unsure, not being visited by ghosts.

It’s not some undead General, it’s a kangaroo. It’s not a plane ghost, it’s a truck on the highway. It’s not your mind playing tricks on you, it’s the tour operator putting ideas into your head.

Go there during the day, not so scary now, is it? “Ooooer, but it’s dark at night time…”

THEN CLOSE YOUR EYES! STILL NO DIFFERENCE!

Punctuation is in limited supply world-wide. I think we should all thank Kilari for doing his bit in conserving the world’s dwindling punctuation resources.

neanderthalsis9:41 am 29 Nov 10

(.I, , .I.I;.) Here’s some punctuation, feel free to insert as appropriate.

That wasn’t a Kangaroo!

Actually, writing like this almost became the formatting style for the Net. When I had a temp job in the Dept of Health and Aging in 1993 the Net and email was only new and everybody was told that the house style for emails was no capital letters or punctuation. I remember receiving bits of paper with almost indecipherable printing on them and being told to file them. I actually sat down at a typewriter and rewrote a few of them as I didn’t like the thought of such rubbish going onto official government files.

WTF? Dude. Punctuation is your friend. Use it.

Now time for a (strong) coffee. 🙂

So you patrolled, so what? I bet you didnt spend anymore than 5 mins onsite before you left.

WTF?
