As seen on a community notice board in the deep south of Canberra.

I have discovered there’s a lot of Reiki advertised on the community notice boards of our fair city. But I believe this is a breakthrough in expanding this essential and expensive service to include horses and dogs.

You’d be wrong about it being a breakthrough of any kind, though I can understand how it might look like that. I guess it all depends on the circles you move in. This whole post appears to be nothing more a troll atractant. So much for “RiotACT welcomes constructive, thoughtful and positive comments. “. Way to lose readers.

I can’t quite tell if you are picking on the original ad, the OP about the ad, the people responding to the ad, or some combination?

What about me?

JessP, I can do deep organic-dynamic massages on ahhh “cats” if that helps you out. Years of practice. 1st one free for you, or your money back.

Can I get it for my pussy? If not why not. A cat with needs.

Sure, but where are you going to get a red deer bladder around here?

i do free-range reiki, but only on macrobiotic capybaras…

All I need now is to get the course certified Bio-dynamic(TM) and I will be raking it in.

I’m not so sure about reiki per-se, but horses do benefit greatly from muscle work and massage, along with chiropractic work.

There are several ‘complementary health’ practitioners in Canberra – http://bushcapital.org.au/?page_id=221 but Sarah isn’t listed… we’ll have to get in touch with her!

Assuming that it’s even true.

Bart Cummings does this to his horses, and his record speaks for itself. One of the rare times I would actually comtemplate this hippy new age tree gurgling bollocks.

I hear he also throws in some track work when the Reiki guy has the day off.

You see what you’ve done there is assume causation when only correlation can be demonstrated.

I’ve got several 44 gallon drums of old rural grade Reiki energy down behind the woolshed.

You don’t live near Lake George do you? Of late I’ve been buying some of that good stuff from a bloke in the Tarago pub. I suspect he’s been raiding your stash.

Johnboy’s post really caught my eye this morning. Reiki sounded like a nice little earner useful alternative modality in the treatment of equine and canine health issues where heavy wallet syndrome pain is indicated.

Since then, I’ve done the online course and I am now a fully accredited Reiki practitioner (it was a slow morning at work). I am now in a position to use my knowledge and experience to treat issues where ‘conventional’ (i.e. treatment by veterinarians and other know-nothings) health care has failed. No need to call me, I can feel your animal’s pain!

And troll-sniffer, you sound like a shonk.

Tell me about it! When we were filling the drums back in the sixties some of it got spilt and when the chooks spotted it they gobbled it up. What happened next remains a secret to this day suffice to say that at least one unsolved aviation accident in Australian airspace could have been explained if we had come forward.

i was going to get this done to my horses but then found out the feng shui in the stable was all wrong – simply put a mirror where the feed was and bingo! i mean, what the hay?

I’ve got several 44 gallon drums of old rural grade Reiki energy down behind the woolshed. I’ve been thinking about selling it off to the local equestrian community in some of the old pint bottles down behind the barn, but I was afraid I would be laughed at for such a ludricous suggestion. Looks like I’m on a winner now though.

Um, are aware that if you are in possession of any quantities of Reiki energy above 100lts, you are required to declare it to the Dept of Primary Industries?

That stuff is dangerous in the wrong hands!

As for me, I’ve created a new crystal reiki colour healing method. It’s based on intuitive homeopathic ayurveda. I charge 30% more than reiki but it’s charged with double the energy so you really get your money’s worth.

So, good horse-owning folk of Canberra, why spend hundreds and thousands of your hard-earned cash on natural practitioners such as horse-chiropractors and horse-Reiki purveyors when for just $19.99 plus postage I will send you some fine matured Reiki energy in an organic glass bottle, pre-configured for all horse ailments in one easy treatment. And with our patented EzyReiki applicator, you can apply the energy yourselves, saving a bundle. For more visit http://www.horsereiki.com.au.

Whatever they are charging, I’ll do it for 30% less, and I guarantee my results.

PT Barnum was so right.

Reiki for horses, reiki for dogs,
Please, somebody reiki my lawn?

Reiki for horses and dogs?

My goldfish is looking a bit peaky – unfortunately the notice doesn’t give a price. Anyway, fish have notoriously short memories so it would be difficult know whether he is feeling any better after treatment.
