I was out at North Watson earlier today, and surprisingly there were a few people there who had travelled down from Sydney to check the viability of Canberra as a place to live. Seems the campaign may just be generating some real interest.
As for Morris “the Dillema” Illema’s comments? Well he wouldn’t have opened his yapper if there wasn’t a genuine fear there that Canberra may just sway people from some of Sydney’s outer suburbs to think about relocating.
IMO parts of Sydney are beginning to reach a point of critical mass anyway, where citizens will actively start looking for a less crowded, cleaner, less violent place to live.
The Government says that cutting weekend bus services will guarantee reliability. Will this work?
