Hi – I am looking for recommendations for a reliable place to take our new WRX to for window tint, paint protection and installation of parking sensors?

Would appreciate any suggestions you may have.

Thanks.

Another vote for SolarTint Fyshwick.

‘Paint protection’ = go to Supa-Crap auto and buy a polish that contains carnauba wax, and you’ll save yourself $200, and achieve a similar (if not better) level of ‘protection’ that you’d receive with the average dealership scam.

Thanks guys. Will check out Solartint and call the few electrical places recommended.

@Outta Control: going for the darkest legal tint 😉
Sigh can’t shake off the hooligan image attached to the WRX, even though the 2010 model is completed revamped from past models 🙂

Solartint in Fyshwick were great when I had a car done with them, and Mal at Solartint in Phillip is brilliant.

Elite car sound in Belconnen are very professional, and would be able to assist with the sensors.

+1 for the paint protection being a waste- for a quarter of the price, you are better off with a full buff, wax and polish, or better yet DIY.

Super Audio Installation in Phillip do all the factory reverse sensor installations for VW and Subaru, so i’m sure they’ll be able to do yours.

Forget paint protection. Wash it regularly by hand, and get some decent quality wax, and you’ll get a better result.

+1 for Solartint.
Paint Protection – waste of time and money

Don’t get sucked in to ‘paint protection’ it’s a car dealer in joke.

I can provide plenty of links to people who have attempted to claim on paint protection and I can assure you the money is better spent on any problems you actually have with the paint down the line.

tint, paint protection on wrx ? first you need a 9inch exhaust !!

A WRX with tinted windows? Why don’t you just put a large sign above the car saying “Here I am, arrest me!”

LC Auto Electrical and window tinting in Mitchell

Have used him twice for window tinting – no complaints on either occasion. Very particular and good pricing.

Another vote for SolarTint here. I’ve had cars done at both Fyshwick and Philip and have had nothing but fantastic results.

Autotint is a good one. I can’t remember the street name but i know it’s located in Fyshwick.

Get the tinting and parking sensors fitted by all means. But I dare say that you’ll get more satisfaction and long-term reward from paint protection by handing all your cash to me instead.

It just doesn’t work!

Tinting is not a terribly exact science, there’s a few good places around. I’ve actually had good experiences recently from having it done via dealers who sub the work out to other businesses (but off the top pf my head I can’t recall the business names).

A few years back I had Vince at Any Windows in Philiip (behind Rolfe BMW) do my car and they were pretty good too. They did a good job on our house windows as well, FWIW.

I had my car done at SolarTint in Fyswick (accross from the subaru dealer). They did a great job too, that was about 1 1/2 years ago now still no porblems. They dont use that stuff that bubbles in the future either.
