Musicfeeds has a significant tribute to the murdered Nicholas Sofer-Schreiber who was stabbed to death in Lyneham on Saturday night:

A punk rock diehard, Sofer-Schreiber was known to many as the ‘Ginger Ninja,’ with the affectionate moniker appearing frequently in the continued tributes being unveiled on social media by friends, fans, and bands, such as US outfit Strung Out, who said:

“One of our long time fans from Australia has been murdered and we are in disbelief of this happening to him. Nicholas Sofer-Schreiber aka the “Ginger Ninja” was such a nice humble kind person. He was a huge fan of not only our band, but so many other punk rock bands too.

“He traveled all over to come see us play and all 5 of us knew him. Our deepest condolences go out to his family and friends and we can only hope that they get to the bottom of what happened to bring some closure to this tragic crime. RIP Ginger Ninja…you’ll be missed mate”

My daughter was also at school with Nick. They weren’t very close friends, but from what she and her friends have been saying, he was a nice gentle bloke known by many because of his good nature.

She is reeling, as are many others. What a terrible terrible thing to have happened. Much empathy to all of Nick’s family and friends.

I went to school with Nick, he was a good kid. Only guy who actually knew who a few of my band shirts I wore throughout school were, such as my the addicts shirt (which I got arrested in, another long story). I’m looking at a strung out sticker on my computer screen right now that’s been there for a long time. Brutal.

Sad to see someone my age stabbed to death for seemingly nothing as he wasn’t ever up to no good, just a nice relaxed guy. Sucks.
