Reprobate of the week

This in from a reliable source:

A number of SES volunteers were on a call out on Saturday night at Mackellar where a house had suffered severe storm and fire damage. As such they set up a lighting tower as well as a number of flashing blue and red lights to warn people and motorists of the danger.

During the course of the call out, someone in a Commodore stole the flashing red and blue lights. The car was followed the vehicle but lost towards Charnwood.

Nice work by idiots flogging vital safety equipment from a volunteer organisation who had to pay for those lights themselves.

With some luck karma will have something to say and a storm will blow their roofs off soon.

UPDATED: More info coming in:

it was a dark colour with a fair bit of work done on it – body kit –
    lowered – mags.

I thought it was because of your crumpled raincoat?

Spot on SheepGroper haha.

No, people don’t really call me Columbo – if they did, I;m sure it would be outof irony that I’m slow on the uptake 😉

hmm, that gives me a random idea wishuwell. let me run with that for a little while and see what we can come up with

Jazz, if you’re still ruminating on that/those random idea(s), feel free to give me a shout. I’ve got some runs on the board in this area (hosted something for one of the SES Canberra mobs, actually) and while the logical side of my brain says ‘let others run with it’, this is not the week for sitting idly by.

In your own time, but give me a yodel if and when you need.

These people are scum of the earth. What will they do with a red and blue flashing light set? in charnwood? wait for the next headline – charnwood slaying – 2 men posing as police gunned down….

typical. not very bright, and sullys the charnwood name…

Red and blue lights? Maybe that was the tail-gater from the story last week rather than and undercover cop?!

So that’s why they call me Columbo?!

Thumper,
That’s your alibi huh?
Sounds pretty lame to me 🙂

Reminds me of looters after natural disaters – that is the looters stealing non essential items that do not include food/clean water/feminine hygene and other essential things that may be hard to acquire after a natural disaster.

Authorities should establish death squads for dealing with miscreants such as those noted in this post and above in the story.

I recall back during the 2003 Bushfire emergency that two young blokes stole some orange flashing lights and barriers that were blocking off a dangerous area of Duffy on the night of the 18th Jan. Well the problem these two “reprobates” had was they couldnt/didnt turn the flashing lights off. So observant Mr Plods saw and stopped the thieves. Given the emergency at the time, both were arrested. For once the magistrate dealt with both of them very harshly and they only just escaped jail, but were belted in the hip pocket. Same same for these thieves I think. Lets hope that someone got their rego or if anyone out there knows who they are, dob them in.

There will always be one or two percent who ruin a good thing for everybody.

This person has sunk to a very low level of humanity, but they have hardly ‘won’. When is all is said and done I think you would rather be ‘you’ than ‘them’. I think most people would. So you and your mates are still the real winners here.

You have the respect of your society and the desire of your friends to assist you. I suspect that most Rioters are angry about this, and if there was anything else that could be done, apart from speaking out against this sort of behaviour, they would do so.

I would put in $25 – $50.

If I find myself doing a Penelope Pitstop and in need of rescuing I actually want them to be able to perform said rescue!

Or Reprobate could just give them back ….

*ha ha*

It WASN’T me!!!

Reprobate: maybe not, but even RiotACT thinks you’re a Troublemaker … 😉

All emergency services use both red and blue flashing lights. It’s supposed to be more “visible”.

Even the Police now use both red and blue lights.

Just wondering, why do they use red and blue lights? I would have thought orange more appropriate, while having the added bonus of being less attractive to the thieving bogan brigade.

How much do flashing lights like that cost?.

depending on the quality, and length of light; probably $250+

It WASN’T me!!!

I hope they got his license plate at least.

What about fundraiser? There’s obviously talent and ability at the RiotACT’s disposal.

I love the Moronic element in this town, just when you think they can’t stoop any lower they prove you wrong.

Consider the average Canberra idiot.
50% of the idiot population is more idiotic than this person.

That has got to be so soul destroying for the SES guys and gals. I love the Moronic element in this town, just when you think they can’t stoop any lower they prove you wrong.

Lost it in Charnwood… don’t ask why I’m asking, but was it a white Commodore?
