Ahh, how did that happen? There is a MASSIVE grille thingy at the upstream entrance of the drain that could stop a car getting washed down the drain. You have to physically climb over that or around fences to get into that drain. Me thinks that some kids were playing stupid buggers in the rain.

Same thing happened to my uncle in Dickson in the early 70`s when he was very young. Got swept away from up near the ovals and was plucked out of the drain by a passing motorist down near the ambulance station.

There are signs everywhere around that area saying stay away if it’s raining, but I guess kids will be kids.

There are signs everywhere warning about speed cameras but people keep getting caught.

What a remarkable story to tell the other cool kids at school. At least she came out alive. The things kids do for an adventure these days.

Those drains near there are ridiculously dangerous looking – I can well imagine with the rain we’ve been having how this situation could have got out of control.
