The seemingly endless round of Canberra property sales records continues with an extravagant property in Conder setting a price record for the suburb as well as the region.
The six-bedroom, five-bathroom home at 5 Muskett Place in Conder sold under the hammer for $1.63 million, smashing Tuggeranong’s regional record of $1.4 million and Conder’s suburb record of $1.27 million in one go.
Selling agent Zac Morris of One Agency Sandy Morris said tensions were high among the registered bidders, with an impressive crowd gathered to witness the sale on Thursday evening.
“We didn’t know exactly what price the property would sell for, but we knew it would break the record. We had a few keen bidders, so we were expecting a tense bidding war and that is what happened,” Mr Morris said.
“This is a 500 square metre property that cost a lot to build. In the end, both the seller and buyer were happy they got value.”
The successful bidders were a family who bought the house for extended family to live nearby.
The new owners will be living a luxurious lifestyle.
Split across three levels, the statement entrance features a grand foyer with smoked glass balustrades, a marble staircase and a chandelier.
The luxurious features don’t end there. There is also a saltwater swimming pool, separate spa, and cinema.
Throughout the home, there is extensive use of floor-to-ceiling glass to showcase the breathtaking, panoramic views of the Brindabella Ranges.
The home has open-plan living areas with six separate formal and informal living spaces, two studies, two family bathrooms and three ensuites. The oversized parent’s retreat is segregated and includes a private balcony, custom fit walk-in robe, adjoining study and large ensuite bathroom with corner spa, floor to ceiling tiles, stone benches and dual vanities.
The designer kitchen is the centre of the home. It is complete with concealed butler’s pantry, Smeg appliances, new Schweigen rangehood, five-burner gas cooktop, 900 mm stainless steel oven, stone benches, dishwasher and a stunning outlook over the mountains.
There is also an expansive outdoor entertaining area with a barbecue kitchen.
