Restaurant Dog. Images of Canberra

restaurant dog

RFS has sent this in:

The attached photo was taken early yesterday evening just outside of Sammy’s Kitchen.

I’m afraid the quality is poor due to the conditions and my inexperience with cameras.

The important question however is who takes their dog to dinner so they can leave it sitting outside the restaurant while they eat?

Seems a curious practise to me.

Maybe the owner was picking up takeaway?

You can be sure that in France, the owner wouldn’t be “picking up” anything the dog had left (like a turd on the footpath)

Of course, in France, the dog would be inside, looking down on mere tourists and having meals brought to it…Discussing philosophy and hairstyles.

And the big, steaming dump it dropped on the footpath outside will still be there, waiting for someone to step in it.

But where would it oui? No trees…

There’s surely a relevant quote from Peeing and Nothingness.

I often think poodles must almost have an awareness of the silliness of some of their hairstyles, given they are one of the smartest breeds of dogs. Don’t think they quite manage irony, though. Probably only puns…

The dog is probably thinking “I’m glad I’m out here and not in there.”

If by “in there” you are referring to the soup, you’d be right.

I too stand outside Sammy’s and think the same thing.
