In the wild world of regional aviation the ABC has the news that Regional Express (Rex) is going to take on some of the sacked Brindabella pilots:
About 135 staff were sacked on Monday, after attempts to sell the company as a going concern failed.
About a dozen staff will remain in Canberra to maintain the planes until the business is sold or wound up.
ACT chief minister Katy Gallagher issued an appeal on Monday for other airlines to consider employing Brindabella staff.
Now Rex Airlines has offered 14 pilots positions with the company.
They will be given places at the Rex ground school in February before being cleared to fly for the airline.
