ACT Policing has arrested a 17-year-old driver with a number of traffic offences after a pursuit from Fyshwick to Richardson last night.

Around 11.40pm last night (February 2), police observed a silver coloured Mazda 626 sedan bearing no registration plates travelling in a north westerly direction along Tennant Street towards Gladstone Street in Fyshwick. Police activated warning lights and siren and followed the vehicle. The vehicle proceeded to travel through a red traffic arrow and red traffic light.

The driver was pursued through a number of Tuggeranong suburbs with stop sticks successfully being deployed by police in Richardson. The driver drove some distance on a nature strip, with a deflated tire, before stopping and abandoning the vehicle. The offender was found by police a short distance away.

The total time of the pursuit was 25 minutes and it covered a distance of 30km through very light traffic.

The driver was charged with driver manner dangerous, failing to stop, driving while disqualified and driving an unregistered and uninsured vehicle. He was granted Watch House bail under strict conditions and will appear in the ACT Magistrates Court on February 14.

Have you contacted ACTP to offer assistance?

Who knows they might like a statement which could satisfy your want to get this bloke 🙂

So i turned into cliff crescent in the wet last night, to see a car going fairly quickly down the road and as it got closer, realised it was coming straight at me on the wrong side of the road. I had to brake hard and swerve into chauncy crescent to avoid this idiot and stopped, to watch 2 police cars speed past after him. I was doing 60, and this idiot was doing well over that, in wet conditions, a head on collision would have been fatal. Does anyone know why ? Or who was driving. I would very much like to track the driver down and share my feelings with him 🙂

“The vehicle proceeded to travel through a red traffic arrow and red traffic light.” while on it’s way through a red light district! boom boom!!

But seriously folks, if you get hit by one of these disqualified arsehats who is driving an unregistered and *uninsured* vehicle in a dangerous manner, then you really are gonna be in a world of hurt. The cops need to go the library, get a big book, and throw it at them.

One of the Rapid cars had a shitbox old Corolla pulled over on Parkes Way yesterday morning. It couldn’t have been speeding because the traffic was moving at walking pace, so I’d say he was picked up for being unregistered, as there was no evidence of rego stickers anywhere on his vehicle. The two doofus bogans inside, to their credit, looked utterly humiliated as passing driveers, including me, stared them down.

If he’d had plates on the car, any plates (unless the cops were in a RAPID vehicle) he probably wouldn’t have been caught. So he isn’t just a moron, but an idiot too.

If we only had more speed cameras we could stop this kind of behaviour.

Nah, probably would have been for supplies.

11:40pm? Late night porn run?
