Haven’t been able to find anything online yet nor heard anything on this morning’s radio but does anyone know anything about a supposed riot at the Belconnen Remand Centre last night??

For those who don’t know the remand centre is behind the Belco cop shop and Ambo station.

[Ed. Felix the Cat heard some discussion about this thread on 2CC. No online sources as far as we can find so far]

No the African hurdling turtle still exists, prints bollocks in the CT – Jess “my mummies set me up” Turtle, although you do have a point – the Japanese would probably still have her in their sights as despite looking like a bit of a minke Im told she’s more of a humpback!

Felix the Cat, you said this thread got a mention on Mike Welsh 2CC today. For those of us who don’t listen to Welsh everyday, would you care to elaborate on what was said, or are you leaving that to our imagination?

Mike was quite complimentry actually, impressed that their was mention of this “riot” (if that’s what it was) on the this site so early in the morning.

I only just realised the irony of RiotAct reporting a riot…

This thread got a mention on 2CC Mike Welsh show today.

I suspect that too Mike

When they close BRC I have a list of people who want their heavy metal album covers done in there…..

What the FG are you talking about. Misrepresented my a-hole.

Maybe Glen will put his efforts into trying the find the real killer.

Jack W: I can almost guarantee you that when the A.M.C. is open, the B.R.C. will be closed with much fanfare. Stanhope will probably make a big speech about how the place was old, not fit for human habitation…thank god for his Govt etc. Then when the A.M.C. is full, the B.R.C. will be re-opened as an overflow facility and what was once black shall quietly be deemed white again.

(I suspect Hingo, that you probably saw the runt of the litter.)

It will be good when the new gaol opens for business. I plan to beep my car horn as I drive past it on the Monaro Hwy, just to let the inmates know I’m free.

Rumour is true – believe things went bad after Win news.

Severe psychosis outbursts of Glen Porritt (he was shown graphic photos) were reported by BRC staff last March and were apparently mis-represented in court by William Dawe DPP yesterday. Poor kid did not know who he was supposed to have killed. Australia is in some nasty war zones overseas. All that suffering (65+ detainees) in that tiny grey building just across the road from carrying your Woolies bags.

maybe some of those tatooed belco boyz were involved ?

In my line of work, I sometimes have to visit the BRC. One time I saw one of these inmates and it was nothing more than some emo kid. I was expecting to see some hardarse but instead it was some dude I could probably snap in half with one arm tied behind my back.

Every night at BRC is a riot!

The’re all just bursting to get into the Alex Maconochie (spelling?) Centre.

When does AMC open anyway? Anyone know?

What happens to BRC? Anyone know?

I haven’t heard anything official, but I imagine it would be rather hard to ‘riot’ at night when everyone is locked in. A disturbance (burning things, yelling etc) may be more likely, but then the way this Government runs the Justice system, anything is possible I suppose.
