Founding member of Throwing Muses and all-around musical innovator Kristin Hersh will be in town this week as part of the Clear Pond Road Australian Tour. Catch her in one of two appearances (or both!) at Smith’s Alternative on Friday evening.
It’s set to be a packed week of orchestral offerings as well.
The Canberra Symphony Orchestra‘s Down South series will be heading to Tuggeranong Arts Centre on Thursday, and Canberra Theatre Centre will be playing host to orchestrated tributes to Queen and Roy Orbison on Thursday and Friday night, respectively.
Elsewhere, Melbourne contemporary jazz quartet The Rest Is Silence will be heading to Smith’s on Wednesday for Geoff’s Jazz, and fellow Victorians Screensaver will bring their frenetic brand of post-punk to sideway on Thursday.
