sideway continues its regular Thursday band night this week with a three-act bill in the upstairs bar on East Row. Koebi Faumui and Suli will be performing alongside Lucy Sugerman‘s live collaboration with J.E.P. Trio.

Canberra’s contemporary jazz beacons of hope, the Viktor Rufus Trio, are farewelling their Canberra residency this week with a free show at Gang Gang Cafe on Friday night. Their monthly sets, featuring bassist Brendan Keller-Tubergand and drummer Rhys Lintern, are equal parts raucous and mind-bending. You won’t want to miss this end of an era performance, particularly given entry is free.

The Basement is keeping live music alive and well in Belconnen with their Monday Mayhem show. Two young bands, Northbourne and HYMNN, will be taking to the stage from 7:00 pm on Monday.
