Well that went quite well. Much thanks to The Front for letting us disrupt their morning on Wednesday.

Video to come shortly. In the meantime why not knock yourselves out telling us what you think?

While we wait for that upload to complete here’s a trip down memory lane to our 2004 appearance on the show.

UPDATED: After a long night of upload frustration comes the happy dawn. All of you who didn’t care enough to watch it live (you know who you are) can now sit through it via a tiny box blurred with compression artefacts. Enjoy.

ANOTHER UPDATE: The transcript’s now online. For those who are wondering the music used is: Ash Grunwald’s “Opinion” – track 12 on the CD “Give Signs”.

Also the ABC video is available.

Finally managed to watch this piece just now. Seemed quite good and all came across pretty well.

DMD, is the website suggestion aimed at me or JB? I’m assuming it isn’t aimed at Jazz given he’s a skinny bastard…

You, J/B, me, 99% of the RA regulars. Sitting behind computers all day just ain’t as healthy as it used to be.

It was a good story – nice work!

Well done Jazz, JB and Simbo!

Yeah, right.

Hm? Brand Stanhope. Me thinks I should go an buy a trademark on the name “Stanhope” so that Labor may direct a substantial portion of their election budget to me because of trademark infringement… either that of stop using Stanhope’s name… actually no, that may help them and I wouldn’t want that!

Take a bow, all concerned. Simbo, the camera was loving you (or vice versa — I’ll check with the cutting room floor).

And Jazz/Johnboy, following on from conversation(s) at ABN last week about growing dissatisfaction with traditional advertising (i.e. print and the farnarkling Jaundice-Coloured Pages), I’ve been talking to people from all walks of life (chippies, hospitality people, tandoor oven makers, musos) about web advertising and slipping the RiotACT into the conversation.

So I’ll change the habit of a lifetime and not try to play middle-man and just punt them all in your direction. (And no, I’m not trawling for a commission!! Just sharing the love around!)

…and evidently that DIY ACT council pickup day recently was a great success for the venue where it was held, as they appear to have found themselves a lovely green couch.

That was a really well edited segment – a great collaboration between RA and Stateline. Well done 🙂 Makes me feel a little glow of pride knowing that I’ve helped (if only slightly) in making RA what it is today. Congratulations guys, hopefully we get some fresh (semi-literate/intelligent) faces out of this.

Danman – Yes it was Ash, such a distinct sound I picked it right away, not familar with the song though – I’m guessing it’s off his latest album.

You guys never answered the big questions, though. Who DOES have the best coffee in town?

They didnt ask the question SamT

maybe that is worth a thread?

>>At least Catherine Garret could probably write an intelligent newspaper column…

‘Probably’ being the operative word.

Wrong wrong wrong…. (what ant said that is)

It’s vg in a dress.

Definitely not a lady!

*hehe*

Not little? Not old? Not a lady?

Awww, thanks, Granny!

(at least I’m popular with little old ladies)

You were definitely the highlight, Simbo!

; )

And most importantly, the story had me, glorious me for a grand total of about twenty seconds…

Yeah, I know I’m not the most frequent poster, but hey, I was the one who was able to get into the studio to get filmed and you weren’t… so don’t come crying to me.

And pretty much every comment they kept was about how shallow some of the discussion here is…

Ooh look at everyone in their posh suits, don’t you scrub up good. Well done.

At least Catherine Garret could probably write an intelligent newspaper column…

jb ftw with cold hard data!

Great segment guys! And as one that can’t get out as often as I’d like to RA functions etc. it’s nice to put faces to some names.

Was that Ash Grunwald playing in the b/g

touche.

nice one JB.

Well, she shouldn’t try to look like Jessica Good, imho :p

But really: great little piece of video, you guys all came across very well.

Me too, blood_nut, ta.

I hope the ABC gave Cole a release form to sign, seeing as he was prominently featured in their overlay material…

Thank blood_nut, now I know.

oh, and as much as i disdain the double post – great segment.

jazz/hasdrubahl…

cole bennetts is both a revered artist and supporter of the arts in Canberra.

Well comparing our choices, I’d gladly vote JB and Jazz to be our town mayors!

And isn’t Catherine Garret looking haggard these days….

Good segment guys!

The sepia shots managed to make a town council election look somehow important. Amazing! Give that Mayor an oversized neck medal.

no idea, he was just some random guy in the front.

Nice.

Who da ginger-hair guy wid da hat, postin’ away on da sofa?

I done forgot until after the fact – so lazy or forgetful… :p

Those banners look better on telly hay boys ?

😛

Ohh… And I’m voting for the RA Party in the upcoming elections!!! LOL :-p

Well done!!!! 🙂

Nice one!

Great job guys!

Well done Gentlemen.

That was a really good watch! Well done, RiotACT!

: )

Whilst I am the first one to put my hand up for being lazy, I was also out shopping for my grandson’s birthday (an endeavour which was accomplished with surprising ease and lack of angst)!

However, even had I been at home for the occasion I would have doubtless been guilty of forgetting to tune in; as I am perhaps just a wee tad on the disorganised side of the spectrum ….

We are waiting for the upload I think! I have just watched the 2004 video.

What went well? What did I miss? Was tbis on tonight’s program?

ahh, so that’s what JB looks like …

you can watch it online too on the abc website… i am too lazy and full of post work beers to find it.
