Keen to get to Manuka Oval for the PM’s XI? Looking forward to a day of heavy drinking in the sun and jokes about New Zealanders?

If you want to go with other Rioters then get yourself a general admission ticket and either meet up in Civic at 9am on the day where the old bus interchange clock used to be, or keep an eye out for the Riot Banner at the ground.

Facebookers are encouraged to sign up for the event.

Confused about the rendezvous point? Here’s what it looks like from there:

UPDATED: Just a reminder on where/when for those looking to attend. I’m arbitrarily declaring a theme of big straw hats, so look for those.

UPDATED: The Riot crew are sitting front row beside the scoreboard. Directly in front of the video screen. Noted by white shirts and straw hats.

Also for those who can’t make it, by tradition revellers assemble at the Kingston Hotel where they drink until they can credibly blackmail loved ones to come get us or risk never seeing us again.

Saves having to figure out buses after a long day drinking in the sun.

My OH and his brother went to the game today. “Somehow” 😉 they ended up at the Kingston Hotel and managed to scam my BIL’s partner to come and collect them, despite all their bus plans.

When my OH left for the day I told him that if he ended up in handcuffs or in an ambulance from heatstroke he could deal with it.

By all accounts it was a great day. My OH reckons that, in the main, Canberra cricket crowds are polite people with a sense of humour. I could tell you more, except the OH is completely dead to the world. He has a slight sunburn, was very jolly an hour or so ago, but is now almost comatose.

Boring. I’ll be going to the Brumbies game tonight at Griffith Oval instead.

RiotACT banner, directly under the video screen, at the PM’s XI?
Way to boost your profile. 😛

I can’t actually make it, I’m afraid. Too many meetings at work 🙁

Good luck toall who are going for a fun day out.

I wich I could join you but work commitments prohibit this today.

Oh, and apparently it’s Happy B’day to JB!

I hope that all of you going to the cricket will remember this sentence from the D(r)aft Multicultural Strategy –

“All individuals have the right to cultural expression and understanding (regardless of the adequacy of their English language skills).”

Go the Black Caps!!!!!

Can’t afford the day off work but will try to drop in afterwards.

If you can keep going until midnight I’ll drop in after work.

Happy birthday, Johnboy!!

: )

Tradition is a grand thing and deserves to be supported!

: )

I will definitely come along to the Kingo and buy you a birthday drink then … not that you are likely to be needing one by that stage!! *chuckle*

Johnboy, I won’t be going along but I do have a small something I’ll try and drop in, or send in with someone who’s going perhaps. I hope it’s a great game and you have a very happy day!
