Iron Man Shane Rattenbury, Greens for Molonglo, rode his bike down to All Bar Nun last night to take up the RiotACT Sim Challenge.

With a team of gun Sim City players advising, Shane gave a masterclass in sustainable city development, keeping his environment rating flawless throughout.

He also ran extremely strong surplus budgets.

Shane finished after three hours with a population of 14,492, $317,703 left in the bank, and 8 bars of positive approval from his citizens.

He scored top marks for environment, traffic, health and education. Land value was mediocre and safety was poor but improving.

Shane’s strong agriculture earned the city of Namadgi a State Fair and while he relied on buses for urban transport he built rail links to the outside world.

He plays as big a game as he talks.

I thought he did exceedingly well. Some candidates have relied on their own instincts when building their sim cities which to some extent has been their downfall however shane was quick to ask for advice on how to achieve particular outcomes but was still very true to his grand plan for a sustainable development. I think that really shows in his outcomes.

I get the feeling that Rattenbury is going to be a prominent part of our political scene for the next while.
