I received this in my inbox this afternoon as a staff notice.

“All National Office Staff,

A film production company has approval to film on Athllon Drive, immediately adjacent to Tuggeranong Office Park (where they store most of FaHCSIA and Centrelink), on Good Friday, 21 March 2008 between 9am and 2pm. The filming will require the closure of Athllon Drive between Pitman and (North) Reed Streets Tuggeranong.

So, who’s the local Filmmaker\TV group doing filming, whats being filmed, and what can we see it in?

I have a sore ankle from trying to walk in two different directions whilst going down some stairs at a very early hour this morning on my way to the gym.

As a long time poster to the Riot-ACT, I hope you all feel very sorry for me vis a vie the injury.

Good thing the shops are shut for Good Friday….or there’d be trouble! 🙂

Hey Pierce,

Not too sure mate, But I can find out for you.
http://www.tams.act.gov.au/move/roads/temproadclosures is the site about it. Ill get details for you though.

So did you have to pay for the road-closure then Kermit? What does that set you back?

Apparently I was in a movie with Robert Helpmann, Christopher Pate and Gerard Kennedy, but it was the same year I discovered Jack Daniels so I don’t remember much about it….

Heya Ozhair,
Yeah I’ll be there too.
Congrats again on the wins at LCA.

You want somebody famous? Well, I’ll be there! 🙂 You may remember me from such films as…. well… ummm… Well I did appear in a short film with Bud Tingwell once…

Hehehe, kermit is correct about the title, at least. Since he seems to also be someone involved with the shoot I won’t say too much more, since I don’t know how much the producers want to let out.

But it’s going to be an interesting weekend… 😉

Heath who?

well i won’t go see it – i only go and watch sci-fi horro porno doco thrillers…

we should start some rumour that someone famous in movies will be there, like marlon brando – oh no wait, he’s dead. how about heath ledger?

I can’t say too much about it as it’s still in production but basically:

The production is called “Crossing The Line” and is a “Sci-Fi horror porno documentary”.
It is being produced by local group: Idiot’s Lantern Productions.

It will hopefully get its first screening at the Canberra Short Film Festival in October.

Hope that clears a little bit up.

There’s a rule that if you want to film in a public place, you have to notify teh cops adn they close any relevant roads, and it’s quite expensive. So the local film companies have been known, on occasions, to do a hit-n-run shoot, emphasis on the run bit. However, sounds like this shoot is being done by the book.

Might be a corporate video, might be an ad, might be a drama film… There’s a few local companies doing this stuff in Canbera.

It’s being made in Canberra, so it has got to be a porno. 🙂

don’t you mean ‘Beerbelly’?

Perhaps it’s a Canberra version of ‘Underbelly’.

Obviously it’s some futuristic horror film exploring the theme of a hideous and unforgiving Government bureaucracy. The location of filming is perfect.

Haha. When I got this email I said to myself ‘i bet someone posts this on RiotACT.
