Simon Corbell has announced the start of a road resealing program:
“A contract to the value of $6.2 million has been awarded to Downer EDI Works for this work which will involve the resealing of national highways, arterial roads, rural roads, urban roads and municipal streets, totalling approximately 620,000 square metres of pavement.
“Road resealing in the southside of Canberra has been programmed to be completed in February 2011. The whole resealing program is expected to be complete by early April 2011.”
The major roads to be resealed as part of the program include:
— Monaro Highway
— Canberra Avenue
— Hindmarsh Drive
— Namatjira Drive
— Kingsford Smith Drive
— Federal HighwaySelected streets will also be resealed in suburbs including Kingston, Griffith, Narrabundah, Torrens, Chisholm, Monash, Wanniassa, Kambah and Rivett (on the southside) and Florey, Cook, Aranda and Watson (on the northside).
