rob ginnivan in the sky

In a more novel sort of charity run we’re lead to believe a world first half marathon has been run this morning on a treadmill in a hot air balloon high over the city.

It’s part of local runner Rob Ginnivan’s Run For Your Heart project to raise money for the Heart Foundation.

It didn’t attract enough attention. Only ABC News reported it. WIN ignored it. As you might expect The Canberra Times couldn’t be bothered because Rob didn’t write a letter to the editor bagging Tony Abbott or write an opinion piece parroting Greens propaganda or lavishing praise on illegal boat people.

Yeah, I mean just look at all those successful charities that do nothing but sit back and wait for the money to roll in…

I’m good with it.

Every weekend, thousands of professional sports people engage in activities like hitting little round balls into holes in paddocks, interminably kicking leather balls around other paddocks and so on. These activities are no more or less pointless than what this bloke did. They just seem more reasonable because they’re more familiar.

If you’re not hurting someone, do what you want to do. If it’s for a good cause, then so much the better. I’ll save my bitching for someone who deserves it, like that Monfries arsehat.

Just silly really.

I ahve to agree, a rather pointless exercise. Kudos for raising cash for charity, but a damn silly way of going about it.

Just silly really. All this running for charity , running on a treadmill in a hot air balloon while sipping a cup of dumb ass for charity! The CEO sleepout , The Cross Dress for Red Cross , Dress like a teenager day one of the worst! and hide a ceo in tree and shoot at him with a pellet gun …well not the last one! is all really sad! just donate if you want to donate!
