If you’re near Garema Place this Saturday, I’m going out of my way to recommend this wonderful bi-partisan, apolitical and awareness raising event.

I’m recommending purchase of a chilled long-neck in a paperbag from Candamber, a comfy seat in the spring sunshine as short speeches are interspersed with music from Canberra’s best bands

Julia & The Deep Sea Sirens

The Missing Lincolns

The Wedded Bliss

Rafe

The Ellis Collective

wot ‘e sed.

how is republic v monarchy apolitical? of course it is political! maybe not party-political (in the sense that there are people from both sides of politics who fall into either camp), but that’s not to say that being a monarchist or a republican is not to hold a political view.

if you are talking in terms of republic v monarchy then that can be completely apolitical – if you are talking in terms of american politics then that isn’t really apolitical.

Well I’m a republican myself but I don’t see how you can claim that republicanism is apolitical.

I’d refer you to the paper bag

isn’t garema place an alcohol-free zone? (aside from licensed premises outdooe seating, of course.)

I’d refer you to the title of the post…

Errm… what exactly is this event ‘bi-partisan, apolitical and awareness raising’ for? Or is it so apolitical you can’t actually say? :p
