Joy Burch has announced the election of Rod Little to the post of Chair of the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Elected Body.

“With his extensive experience and a long employment history in Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Affairs in the community and within governments, Mr Little brings substantial ability to his role.”

Mr Little was a member of the inaugural Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Elected Body and has held the important portfolios of health and housing.

He has worked closely with the ACT Public Service in the development of its recently launched Employment Strategy for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people, which aims to double the number of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander employees by 2015.

The other members of the body (stop sniggering up the back there) are Lynette Goodwin, William Hodges,
Dianne Collins, Brendan Church, John Paul Janke and Roslyn Brown.

Will they put out more than one media release every year?

“Double the number of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander employees by 2015.”

What is that in real numbers? Is it an ambitious figure or is it three people?

Just curious. Google turned up nothing for me.
