The Comets got off to go start by giving the Apple Islanders a touch up at manuka Oval yesterday.
tasmania batted first, always a good thing on the low slow deck at Manuka, and posted an excellent 8/267 off their 50 overs.
The Comets stuggled early on until John Rogers and Mark Divin got together for a magnificant partnership to get the Comets over the line.
Rogers finished with 121 and Divin, who was 94 not out with 5 runs to win, moosed one over square leg for six to bring up the victory and his maiden Comets century.
Watch out for Rogers in years to come. I predict he will following the footsteps of Dawson, McNees, Higgs, Haddin, Smith, Bevan, Rowell, Wayne Andrews, and others into the first class arena.
