It had not escaped the notice of the all-seeing eye that ACT Policing’s boss was getting back into his Twitter account.

The ABC reports he’s been pipped for the job of running the banana bending cops by Queensland’s Deputy Commissioner of Regional Operations Ian Stewart.

Deputy Commissioner Stewart was the inaugural State Disaster Coordinator during the 2010 – 2011 Queensland flood events that included Tropical Cyclone Yasi and Tasha.

The other four shortlisted for the Police Commissioner’s position for were QPS Deputy Commissioner Ross Barnett, Assistant Commissioners Brett Pointing and Graham Rynders and Australian Federal Police ACT chief Roman Quaedvlieg.

Most observers of ACT Policing will, we think, be rather relieved that he’s staying on for now.
