RSPCA ACT and CBA launch ‘Currency 4 Creatures’

RSPCA ACT is excited to announce its new campaign, ‘Currency 4 Creatures’. During October, RSPCA ACT is working on a fantastic initiative that allows people to donate foreign currency with all proceeds going directly to helping animals at the RSPCA ACT Shelter.

Many of us understand the confusion of just what to do with all leftover money from an overseas holiday. This is where ‘Currency 4 Creatures’ comes in.

People can donate their foreign currency and Australian money through ‘Donation Dogs’ set up in the foyer areas of four participating Commonwealth Bank of Australia branches. You don’t need to be a CBA customer, just a have big heart and a few dollars. Whether it’s pounds, krone, rupees or lira, CBA will convert the currency to AUD and donate to the RSPCA ACT Shelter.

Donations can be made at key CBA branches across Canberra and the RSPCA ACT Shelter in Weston.

The CBA branches participating include:

  • Tuggeranong
  • Belconnen
  • Civic
  • Woden

So what will this money do? The goal is to raise $20,000 during October to desex and microchip 260 kittens. While this sounds like a lot of money, this will see to just 1/3 of the kittens we anticipate to come through the doors of our Shelter this financial year.

So what are you waiting for? Your change can make a big difference in the lives of Canberra’s most vulnerable animals. Help us help them! Donate at your local CBA branch.
