Meet our lovable Pets of the Week looking for forever homes at the RSPCA ACT Shelter!

Loca and Charlie Brown are this week’s friendly Pets of the Week! These lovely animals are waiting to find their perfect match. Think that could be you? Read more about them below!

Dog of the week: Loca

Our sweet Loca is a gorgeous American Staffordshire Terrier who, in just two and a half years, has just about seen it all.

She’s given birth to two separate litters, even though she’s really only a baby herself. She’s watched all her puppies be adopted from RSPCA ACT but she’s still here waiting for a loving home.

She’s transformed from a scarred, anxious puppy surrendered to the shelter nearly four months ago into a playful and caring girl who’ll quickly become ‘super glue’ to her owner. She’ll need a fenced yard and, ideally, a home with no other pets.

Loca has been at the shelter for far too long and so desperately deserves a kind and loving family to take her on long walks and give all the cuddles she can handle! Why not visit Loca today?

Bird of the week: Charlie Brown

Charlie Brown, as you might be able to tell from his cheeky grin, is a loveable youngster with plenty to say. In just a few weeks he’s progressed from a shy boy into a charismatic jokester. He’ll almost certainly ask you, “Watcha doin’?” when you walk past!

He’s a seven-year-old cockatoo and strictly an indoor-only bird. He loves getting out of his cage, and when he’s warmed up to you, he’ll be sitting on your shoulder so fast you’ll think you’ve turned into a pirate.

Cockatoos need as much attention and care as most other domestic animals so he’ll need to be out of his cage at times and ideally adopted by someone with large parrot experience. He’s pretty good with teenagers and loves a head rub (and a conversation).

Charlie Brown is a favourite of ours in the shelter office, but we know he needs to be in a place where he can flourish into the handsome and cheeky bird he was always meant to be. Come see Charlie Brown today, and don’t forget to ask him what he’s doing!

Visit RSPCA ACT today at 12 Kirkpatrick St, Weston, and add a new companion to your life. You won’t regret it!
